About Mindi
WARNING to anyone reading this who knows me personally:
The views expressed on this blog are the views of EvilMindi/DrunkMindi/FunMindi. If you are looking for NiceMindi’s blog, it doesn’t exist. This may be the place where I am blowing some recent event WAY out of proportion and if that is going to offend you, stop reading now. I am writing about it here because it was probably too impolite to stab you with a ZooPals spork at the time. Don’t say that you weren’t warned!
Having said that, if you continue to read this blog and are offended by something that I say about you, don’t come to me looking for an apology or a retraction…..because you won’t get it.
If I say it here, I mean it. I just may be too polite or too cowardly to say it to your face.
Yes – I use my real name on this thing. I could come up with something clever, like Indi-May Herry-Cay, but it was brought to my attention by a friend that there is no real way to hide on the Internets. Of course, he is a total computer geek who knows what an “ISP” is, so he is about 4,579 steps ahead of me, but still……
After having my first child, I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. Things were going great until I realized that I had no idea what was going on in the world unless Steve announced it on Blue’s Clues. I decided that I needed a challenge….something that would get me out of the house and among the grown-ups.
That is to say – I was easy pickins for the local MaryKay woman! I signed up for Mary Kay, had a few shows and went to a few weekly meetings. Big mistake. After 1 meeting I was trying to figure out how much time in jail I would have to do if I hammered a nail in to the forehead of my Director. There is such a thing as being TOO perky! And thus, my short career as a Pink Commando was over!
I had been making jewelry for myself for a while. After #2 was born, I decided to make myself a mother’s bracelet…..you know – one of those silver bracelets with lots of bling and the names of your children spelled out in sterling blocks? It wasn’t long after I made that bracelet that a few friends asked me to make one for them. From there, it was like that annoying 1970s shampoo commercial: “and they told 2 people, and they told 2 people, and they told 2 people”. Pretty soon I became known as the “letter bracelet woman”. Since then, I have branched out my business to include many different styles.
When I am not taking care of my jewelry business, I am taking care of my 3 children (Prince #1, Prince #2 and The Queen) and my fabulous husband and am very active in the Home & School Association at my older son’s Elementary school.
In other words, I’m one of those moms who annoys the shit out of you.
But I guess that is why I started this blog. When you spend your days as a Stepford Mom, you need some sort of outlet at the end of the day. You can only have the “Which Wiggle is the most fuckable?” debate (it’s Anthony, by the way) for so long before your head explodes!

Hey Mindi! You may or may not remember me (hint of being tickled “Purple” but obviously I’m subject to alias here. I have purchased some really gorgeous pieces from you in the past (and hopefully some more soon in the near future!). I’m so happy that I was able to locate your website and even happier to find out that you now have a blog! I share your thoughts on Anthony
) and hope you don’t mind if I drop in from time to time! Take care and Happy, Healthy New Year to You and your family.
Hey Mrs. D! Of course I know who you are! I’m still trying to find something similar to those green stones so that I can make one of those necklaces that I made for you for myself! I pretty much took December off from my jewelry business and am in the process of reorganizing my entire house, but I should have new jewelry up within the next few weeks. Glad to see you here!
Yes, yes.. It is Anthony!! Have you seen some of their older videos? Murray is starting to look really old.
You know you watch the Wiggles too much when you know know most of the Wiggly dancers and notice when one of them isn’t there anymore (Larissa)
I remember how excited we were in this house when the Wiggles show first came to Disney. Prior to that, they were just “filler” between shows. (I know – I really need to get out more!)
I never much liked Murray anyway – there was just something about the wideness of his face compared to the delicateness of his features. And Anthony, while still a hottie, really needs to shit-can those sideburns. I haven’t seen Greg’s replacement ever since he quit last year…have those shows made it to Disney yet?
Oj – do you see why I needed to start this blog? I just spent WAY too much time talking about the Wiggles!
*GASP* Murray is gone?!?!?! It is the beginning of the end! The prophesies are all coming true… LOL… I actually had not idea. Do they have a new Red Wiggle?
Anyway – I wanted to thank you for adding me to your list! Greatly appreciated it is… (You are supposed to hear that in a Yoda Voice… did you? If not – try it once more…)
Murray’s not gone. The yellow Wiggle Greg is. I think new shows start on Monday with Yellow Wiggle Sam. I think Greg ran off with Larissa…
Mindi–I just “met” you and I like you already . . .
Hey, Min – found ya! It was so awesome to see you and Brad and the kids – so nice to finally meet the Queen Bee, and to see Thomas flourishing! Keep me posted on his musical successes, ok? Love ya!
Hey Mindi! It’s your cousin Jen. Mom sent me the link to your blog. I don’t get to read it as much as I would like with working full time and school full time plus a 14 year old daughter. My problem is when I sart reading it I can’t stop I have to get caught up on what I have missed. Then all of a sudden I look up and it 4:00a.m. Mail me back sometime. Let me know if you are coming to Indiana this summer.
Hey Jen! Good to see you here! I “sort of” talked to your mom last night (she was yelling “Happy Birthday” in the background when I was on the phone with Dad). I didn’t realize that the whole fam knew about this thing
. Glad that you like it and I would love to see pictures of your daughter…can’t believe that she is 14 already!
I don’t know if we are making it this summer….I was out for the reunion last year and I usually only go every other year. But considering that so many people have “declining health”, I’m seriously thinking about it. I’ll let you know, but we always stay at the Marriott and it will be the 3rd Sunday in July (last year I think your mom was in Florida when we were there)!
Yeah I can’t believe Sami is 14 either! She thinks she is like 21 or something and always has somewhere she needs to go and something she needs to buy. I meant to tell you Happy Birthday yesterday and forgot. So, Happy Birthday! I will e-mail you some pictures. I heard you are not good at responding to e-mail and thats o.k. cause neither am I. Infact most forwards I just delete, but if someone actually has something to say I read it and try to respond.
If you don’t come out til next year I suppose thats good ’cause it means no bad circumstances. I’d like to see you but not under unfortunate circumstances. I think I am gonna try to go down to Florida and see Gramps in a couple of weeks.
Talk to you later!
Jen
Finally a blog I can relate to! I am a stay at home mom who secretly wishes she could ring the necks of the other moms at kiddos school. haha. One of them volunteers EVERY day … For f’s sake woman get a life! Thanks Mindi for making me laugh.
Omg! Is it wrong that I think I love you!? Already added you to my reader. Now I will be spending too many hours reading old posts, so much for the 3 baskets of laundry that needed to be folded.
[of course it isn't wrong...I love me too!
- Mindi]
I love that you use your real name too. I don’t feel like coming up with nicknames I’ll have to remember…I spend all day referring to myself as Mommy, Mama or Darcie. I don’t call my kids Thing One and Thing Two (the nicknames I originally attempted)…why should I start here?
And I appreciate your frankness. I’d like to be that honest on my blog, but I don’t want to pull a Dooce!
I work for this small online jewelry company http://www.superiorweddingrings.com and I want to know if you would be interested in adding a link to that website from your blog. We have small bribes we can offer if you are interested. Thanks for your time. Keep blogging!
